Governor’s Charity Steer Show
Started in 1983, the Iowa Beef Industry Council and the Iowa Cattlemen's Association joined forces with Governor Terry Branstad and organized the Governor's Charity Steer Show. At the Governor's request, the designated charity for the first-time event was the Ronald McDonald Houses of Iowa. Houses are now located in Des Moines, Iowa City and Sioux City. These facilities house the family members of seriously ill children being treated in area hospitals. For additional information about the show contact Doug Bear or Matt Deppe at the Iowa Beef Industry Council at 515-296-2305.
This year's event will take place Saturday, August 13th, 2011 4:00 pm in the Pioneer Livestock Pavillion at the Iowa State Fair.
The next Governor's Charity Steer Show will take place during the Iowa State Fair, Saturday, August 11th, 2012. Check back for more information closer to the event time.
